It started with a simple observation
GripHero began in 2017 with a simple question: Could vehicle refuelling be made safer, cleaner and more sustainable? Our founder, Oli Yeo, a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with experience across the petrochemical and defence engineering sectors, had noticed a familiar problem at filling stations. Where disposable gloves were provided, they were often difficult to access, unsuitable for the environment, unnecessarily wasteful or simply not used. At many locations, no hand protection was provided at all. Yet every day, millions of people handle dispensing equipment used to transfer hazardous chemical products into their vehicles. The challenge was not simply to create another glove dispenser. It was to understand the refuelling task and engineer a better solution around it. That thinking became GripHero. Vehicle refuelling has traditionally been considered primarily through the lens of fire and explosion safety.
Today, greater attention is also being given to the chemical health hazards associated with fuels and the potential for exposure through splash, residue, contaminated surfaces and vapours.

Chemical protection should not be considered in isolation — PPE should be appropriate for both the exposure and the environment in which it is used.

GripHero's patented dispensers position PPE directly alongside the fuel nozzle or dispenser, making protection immediately accessible when it is needed.
Controlled one-at-a-time dispensing helps reduce unnecessary consumption, waste and forecourt litter while simplifying replenishment for operators.
